Juvederm™
Juvederm™ is an excellent product used for filling wrinkles, laugh lines, folds, as well as for volumizing lips.
Juvederm™ itself is a cross linked hylaronic acid in a viscous gel and is found naturally throughout our body. It is responsible for keeping cells hydrated and results in their fuller appearance.
Injections are performed under local or topical anaesthetic to allow for optimal patient comfort. In preparation for the procedure it is recommended, if possible, to avoid the use of ASA or other aspirin like products for the week prior to treatment. This would be discussed first in consultation with Dr. Wilson who is qualified and experienced in the injection of Juvederm™ and performs all injections. No pre-testing is required prior to the procedure as Juvederm™ is of non animal origin.
After the procedure, some people may experience some temporary bruising or swelling. These reactions usually subside within hours to a few days.
The effects of Juvederm™ usually last for up to nine months all the way to nearly a year.
